ENERGIZE OR EXHAUST?

Energize or exhaust? I guess it all depends on your individual fitness goals. One thing is certain, regardless of your fitness goals, there are three components that should be present in every workout schedule - Endurance and Recovery Training, Strength and Interval Training, and High Intensity Interval Training.

I heard the phrase once "Think of training like a large tree. Endurance and Recovery Training is the strong foundation - the roots and trunk of the tree. Strength and Interval Training is the upper part and branches and the High Intensity Interval Training forms the top." I think that a lot of us are planted upside down in our training! Highter, harder, faster is not always the best mantra.

With that in mind, take a moment to evaluate how you've been training over the last year. Now is a great time to essentially start over and find that level of fitness you never thought possible. If you're new to fitness, this would be a great time to set goals for yourself and figure out the best road map to get where you want to be.

On each Tuesday over the next three weeks, I'm going to highlight the three components of fitness. Check back for more information on each.

Tuesday, January 25 - Endurance and Recovery Training
Tuesday, February 1- Strength and Interval Training
Tuesday, February 8 - High Intensity Interval Training

Take it to the next level!
Ride on!
